Creating Landing Pages That Convert

A landing page, sometimes known as a squeeze page, is a quick and easy way to build up your subscriber list. And with today's average attention span being shorter than ever, landing pages that make use of visuals to help viewers get a faster understanding of their offers tend to convert higher than those that only use text. Invest the time to create compelling visuals to pair with each of your offers - design an attractive ebook cover in InDesign, go the extra mile to make your SlideShare decks stand out, find the most enticing thumbnail for the video you embed. Take it one step further and read up on landing page design best practices to How To Create a Landing Page make sure you're optimizing for conversion with every element of your page.

Most tests show that an audio message that starts immediately the page loads will increase your response. Use Audacity to record the message and one of the free or cheap software programs out there to add it to your page. A landing page should offer all the necessary information, but not so much as to overwhelm (and as a result, drive away) the visitor. Provide the essential info that will interest your audience and nothing more (check out this post for some landing page inspiration ).

Frankly, this is crazy, but I can understand why they price it the way they do (value-based pricing, market leader, etc.).I'm planning on offering a WordPress plugin that does the same thing for a fraction of the price (1 time cost, not monthly) in near future. Similar to how you make your decision about whether the purpose of the page is to sell a product or drive leads, context matters. A hard-sell strategy usually means you going to make an effort to close the deal while the prospect is on your page.

At least OkCupid's template gives me a form with the call to action Send a message” and a place to create an offer: the You should message if” section. Think carefully about what information is absolutely necessary for the next step as you create your form. A blank page with nothing but a form isn't enough for a visitor to take you seriously. When writing copy for a landing page there should be just enough to overcome objections and no more. We started with a pure webpage (or as pure as possible) and added and created an offer and a form thinking carefully about how our potential customers/suiters arrived at this landing page.

Before you begin compiling your data, I recommend downloading a few of the free templates to get you started, such as the ones from the Small Business Administration , SCORE, and online sites that have pre-written templates for specific businesses By reviewing them and customizing them with your own in-depth research, you'll be well on your way to being able to provide the answers that can ensure your business success and boost your chance of appealing to investors.

Clearly some of the larger online brands like Amazon and Paypal have taken note of this, using orange and those that contrast with it to create immediately recognizable calls to action. Whenever you are designing your logo or your landing page, keep in mind that some people will see it differently than you do. As the logo will probably land on external spots, where you don't control background, you should avoid green and red colors. As we were writing about what we did at Elokenz to improve our logo and landing page for color blind people , we decided to compile a list of the ‘famous' pages that perform very poorly for color-blind people.

Afterall, what you're offering in this case is free so its usually an easy the other hand, if you're selling a high ticket item like consulting or coaching services which will cost $1000+ your goal will be to get visitors to fill out a form to request a quote, consultation, or evaluation. However, even though the option to do this is also free, no one who is a qualified buyer will the decision lightly.

That's 39 opportunities for whoever visits the page to wander off before completing what the page owner would like the visitor to do. And this is where you ended up after clicking on a paid search ad, so they are paying a lot to distract people. Not only is this the WHOLE sign-up page, but the page you get to for ” is just a log-in page. Keep the most essential parts of your message - logo, headline, call to action, a supporting visual - in the center top of the screen, with supporting messaging lower down on the page. One can measure the engagement rates of the landing page in metrics like Bounce Rate.
